Imprimeur Simon, based in Ornans in the Doubs region of France, purchased a Polar Pace 200 cutting system with AirGo Jog robot in the course of 2025. The company specializing in offset and digital printing, graphic design and finishing, which employs some fifty people, wanted a more efficient and ergonomic finishing system.
The Polar Pace 200 automates finishing operations up to 75 x 106 cm, while the AirGo Jog module ensures loading onto the cutter's rear table, rotation, cutting and jogging of paper stacks. The company has also automated palletizing with a Transomat unloader.
For François Simon, manager of the offset and digital printing plant, there's no denying it: " The AirGo Jog considerably improves the ergonomics of the cutting station. The physical load is reduced, and operators take on more control tasks. This makes the job more attractive and encourages reflection on the correct programming of the jogging device."
In terms of quality, he emphasizes alignment repeatability. "The quality of stack alignment is comparable to that of an experienced operator who takes the time to do his job properly. The system guarantees consistent quality and relieves the operator of the task of manually feeding paper."
With this new equipment, the Doubs-based printing company achieves an average processing time of around three minutes per pile. For substrates above 135 g/m², processing is faster.
The equipment does not eliminate the need for the operator to be present, but frees up time during the cycle. "While the AirGo Jog is running, the operator can prepare production sheets or load and unload new pallets. This contributes to better flow organization."
