Heidelberg Launches New Generation Speedmaster

This "smartest and most automated" generation of Speedmasters will be available from April 2020.

Heidelberg will present a new generation of offset presses from the Speedmaster series at the Drupa 2020 graphic arts trade fair (16-26 June 2020 in Düsseldorf, Germany). Most models will be available from April 2020. And the German manufacturer announces that it will be the generation of Speedmasters "the smartest and most automated" that never existed.

Among the new features of this new generation, Heidelberg unveils that all new Speedmaster presses, whether small, medium or large format, will be equipped as standard with Push to Stop functionality for non-stop production and a cloud connection that gives access to the range of cloud-based software solutions and their future developments.

"We predicted at Drupa 2016 that the graphic arts industry would double its productivity by 2026. "That's what's happening, and the Push to Stop feature is the key." says Rainer Wolf, Head of Sheet Products Management in Heidelberg.

The Push to Stop function was first introduced at Drupa 2016. Since then, it has been constantly improved and the manufacturer promises even more automation of this tool for Drupa 2020.

Heidelberg will also unveil further technical innovations to solve real-life problems for packaging, commercial and label printers and to close gaps in the automation chain.
In particular, the manufacturer promises innovations "impressive" in the field of intelligent support systems and especially in printing plate logistics.
