New ink and varnish at SwissQprint

Printers have access to an expanded gamut, a protective coating and new tactile and visual effects.

Two new features at SwissQprint. All the led inkjet printing machines of the Swiss manufacturer of large format printers can now print bright orange, and the latest addition to the range, the Karibu roll-to-roll printer can apply varnish.

Orange ink for large format led printing

Orange ink can be used with the primary colours or as a spot colour. "We already had an orange in our ink line that was a mercury lamp-medium-led hybrid ink.. . This new ink is led drying, with all the advantages of dedicated led inks, explains Alain Greiner, CEO of SwissQprint France. Its gamut is much larger than the old orange and therefore allows to reach more precisely certain pantones. It's also much brighter and gives the quadri a real boost!"

The colour values of this new orange correspond to those of Pantone 021, i.e. a bright orange. This new colour completes the ink set of the LED-drying flatbed tables from swissQprint and the Karibu roll-to-roll printer.

Varnish for roll media

SwissQprint is also launching a highly flexible coating for the Karibu roll-to-roll printer.
Users can apply selective or non-selective varnish layers to create visual and tactile effects.

This varnish layer can also protect the substrate from water or scratches. It preserves the print against solvents, which is particularly useful for prints that need to be cleaned regularly.
