New features for Canon's Arizona 2300 flatbed table with FLXflow technology

Arizona 2300 FLXflow from Canon

In addition to the function of holding media on the flatbed without zones, Arizona 2300 FLXflow flatbeds can be equipped with two new options to facilitate media management, and create embossed prints twice as thick.

Canon is adding new features to its Arizona 2300 flatbed tablse range, with FLXflow technology. This series for medium and large volumes includes six models in two different sizes (3080 x 2500 mm 1250 x 2500 mm).

Improved support with Arizona 2300 FLXflow

The Arizona 2300 FLXflow now holds media on the table without the concept of zones, thanks to a patented airflow technique. This function, called Hold, automatically measures and adjusts airflow levels to hold different types of media. "This feature enables flexible positioning with significantly less masking, so that work can be completed more quickly." assures Canon.

Two new options for easy media handling

Canon offers two new options for the Arizona 2300 FLXflow: Flotation and Instant Switching. These make it easier to handle heavier and more irregularly shaped media around the table.
The Floatation option blows air upwards from the table to create a cushion for easier positioning of heavy or difficult substrates, such as glass, Dibond and plywood. It also enables more accurate registration of all types of substrates, and precise simultaneous positioning of multiple substrates.

The Instant Switching feature allows the operator to easily switch between Table Hold and Table Float modes using foot pedals.

Canon has also added print quality modes, new image layout commands for last-minute adjustments on the printer, improved workflow integration, and an interface that connects automation systems for continuous loading and unloading of media.

Relief prints twice as thick

The Arizona 2300 FLXflow is accompanied by PRISMAelevate XL version 2.1, which doubles the print height of Arizona flatbed printers to 4 mm. This enables users to create new tactile prints for embossed applications, such as permanent textured signage, product decorations, awards, decorative materials and packaging prototypes, as well as applications for the visually impaired.

According to the manufacturer, the robustness of the prints eliminates the need for additional finishing steps, such as laminating, coating or varnishing.

On-site updates possible

Customers of the current Arizona 2300 with Flow technology can upgrade to the latest version with FLXflow features.

The Arizona 2300 FLXflow, available from June 2024, will be presented for the first time in Europe at Drupa 2024. PRISMAelevate XL 2.1 is already available.
