Ricoh unveils its new hybrid printer, the Flora X20 UV

The new Flora X20 UV printer, the result of a collaboration between Ricoh and Flora, adapts to a variety of rigid and flexible substrates, up to 2m wide and 5.1cm thick.

At the Fespa 2024 trade show held in March in the Netherlands, Ricoh unveiled its first printer co-developed with Chinese flatbed and large-format digital inkjet manufacturer Flora, whose partnership was announced last December. Called Flora X20 UV, this hybrid machine has been designed to bring great flexibility to sign and display printing.

The Flora X20 UV is equipped with Ricoh MH5320 printheads, ColorGATE RIP software and ICC profiles.

This UV machine prints on rigid and flexible substrates up to two meters wide and 5.1 cm thick, such as PVC banners, vinyl or rigid cardboard.

Three ink configurations are possible: CMYK, CMYK plus double white and CMYK plus white and varnish.

Sensors automatically detect substrate thickness and location. The machine is equipped with an LED light box for print quality inspection.

Angelo Mandelli, Product Development Manager, Large Format and Flatbed Marketing EMEA at Ricoh, emphasizes: "The X20 UV was developed in response to market demand from sign and display specialists who are increasingly looking for flexible, versatile solutions for indoor and outdoor applications."
