The Prosper Ultra 520, Kodak's new generation inkjet press

Based on new inkjet technology from Kodak, this new digital press would offer the quality of offset for a low cost per page.

Kodak will not wait until next year to present its new Drupa 2020 products. The manufacturer is unveiling its new CMYK inkjet press series, the Prosper Ultra 520. The Kodak Prosper Ultra 520 reel-to-reel press offers a high quality printing quality "Offset-worthy" and "for the lowest operating cost in the printing industry." according to its manufacturer.

This new press up to 533 mm wide is the first machine based on Kodak Ultrastream's patented writing system. The Ultrastream allows "ultra-precise positioning of perfectly round droplets with no 'satellite' droplets." . It thus produces "the highest quality inkjet image currently available on the market", quality comparable to 200 lpi offset on coated, uncoated, glossy and satin papers, while benefiting from the advantages of inkjet (such as variable data printing).

With optimized ink usage, increased operational availability and longer inkjet head life, it would also offer high quality printing at a low cost per page.

The Kodak Prosper Ultra 520 digital press reaches a production speed of 150 m/min in high quality and can produce up to 60 million high-quality pages per month.
It is available in two versions: the Ultra C520 model for high ink coverage applications and the Ultra P520 model for medium to low ink coverage applications.
