Roland DG's TrueVIS VF2-640 printer delivers vibrant colors

This new large format can be configured with up to eight ink channels and supports 10 Greenguard Gold certified inks (CMYKcLmLk, white, orange and green).

In June, just in time for Drupa 2020, Roland DG is launching a new large format inkjet printer, the TrueVIS VF2-640. Designed to print signage, backlit boxes, posters, vehicle covers, banners, this 1625mm wide printer offers a wide range of printing options "Extraordinary colours" according to its manufacturer.

The Roland VF2-640 can be configured with up to eight channels. It works with the TR2 ink system with 10 colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, light cyan, light magenta, light black (CMYKLcLmLk), white, orange, and green.

"For a wide range of applications, the TrueVIS VF2-640 will take production to a whole new level while delivering stunning colour, says Paul Willems, Development Director and Head of Production at Roland DG EMEA. The addition of green, in addition to orange and white, really makes it possible to create incredible images."

This extended gamut is exploited with the new True Rich Colour 2 tool, which combines vivid hues with neutral greys, flowing gradients and natural skin tones.

In addition, TR2 inks are Greenguard Gold certified, which guarantees printing with low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the indoor air.

WLM Design BV, a Dutch company specialising in the design and production of sportswear and adhesives, was one of the first companies to equip itself with this TrueVIS VF2-640. "We've been using the TrueVIS VF2-640 for a few months to produce custom stickers and have been amazed by its performance, testifies Wisja Lamers, the CEO. It is very easy to use and faithfully reproduces the spot colours. It's a huge advantage for our company and our customers."
