Fujifilm's consumable prices increase across the board

The percentage increase will be in the double digits.

Japanese manufacturer Fujifilm has announced a worldwide price increase for its offset printing plates, processing chemicals, printed circuit board (PWB) films and inks.

The increase will be more than 10% and will differ by region and product. It will be implemented as of May 1, 2021.

The group, which operates in the fields of healthcare, materials, printing and imaging, explains this strong increase by the rise "considerable." of "costs of various raw materials, including aluminum and silver" and the increase in international transportation costs.

"Fujifilm is working tirelessly to absorb the cost increase by reducing costs and improving productivity. However, the magnitude of the cost increase can no longer be borne by the company." he says.

Belgian manufacturer Agfa also announced price increases for offset plates. And several paper and ink manufacturers have also announced price adjustments, citing cost increases and shortages of raw materials as well as increases in international freight costs.
