The former graphic arts group powerhouse is getting into 3D printing. But not the 3D printing you're thinking of!

After 15 years at the head of the graphic arts group, Israeli Alon Bar-Shany, is entering a new business: 3D printing of vegetable steaks. The man who left the graphic arts group last June is now executive chairman of Israeli startup Redefine Meat. The company, which was founded in 2018, specializes in 3D printing of steaks made of plant proteins.

"At HP Indigo, I was privileged to have a technological breakthrough to move away from centuries-old traditional industrial methods." said Alon Bar-Shany, to the vegan trade newspaper Vegconomist .

He continues: "Sustainability has always been a great passion of mine, my involvement with Redefine Meat allows me to help solve one of the world's biggest problems. It has become clear that future generations may not be able to eat meat at all if we are not responsible for the consequences of our actions today."

In this new position, Alon Bar-Shany joins two HP Indigo alumni. The two founders of Redefine Meat, Eshchar Ben-Shitrit, general manager, and Adam Lahav, head of business strategy, spent a few years at HP Indigo as product managers.
