ColorLogic: New acquisition for Hybrid Software

With this fifth company, Hybrid Software Group is gaining expertise in wide gamut color management.

After the acquisition of its competitor last January Hybrid Software Group, a British software company specializing in industrial manufacturing software for printed products ( ex Global Graphics PLC ) announced that it had purchased ColorLogic in late October.

Based in Germany and founded by Barbara Braun-Metz in 2002, ColorLogic specializes in color profiling and conversion software. Its products are sold worldwide to end users as well as to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of printing equipment.

The Harlequin RIP, Hybrid Software's flagship product, is a color management RIP based on the CMYK process. "As label and packaging production moves to digital printing, more capable seven-color printing devices are needed to ensure accurate color matching for each brand says Mike Rottenborn, CEO of Hybrid Software Group. ColorLogic has long been respected as an industry leader in wide gamut color management and its tools offer the perfect combination of speed and quality for these demanding applications."

ColorLogic is the fifth company in the Hybrid Software Group, which also includes Global Graphics Software, Hybrid Software, Meteor Inkjet and Xitron.
