New textile inks from Kodak

These Kodak transfer printing inks allow printing on a variety of textiles without the investment of a direct printing system.

Kodak is adding a new printing option to its textile offering. In addition to its Kodacolor DTG (Direct-to-Garment) direct printing inks launched in 2019 is the Kodacolor DTF ink system dedicated to Direct-to-Film (DFT) printing.

DTF printing offers the ability to print on a wide variety of fabrics such as polyester, nylon, linen, cotton and natural silk, with less investment in equipment and more flexibility. These fabric transfer ink systems can be used with most modified inkjet printers and consist of three components: powder, film and ink.

"Kodak's FTF ink system is the ideal solution for textile print shops wanting high-quality fabric prints without the expense of a full-fledged DTG printing system or wanting to offer their customers additional printing projects on fabrics other than cotton." says the American manufacturer.

In addition, owners of direct printers can also use this system. Kodacolor powder and Kodacolor film are compatible with direct printers and Kodacolor DTG inks.

These inks are produced in the United States in Rochester, New York.
