The Plockmatic SD-435/450, the new Italian-style booklet finisher from Konica Minolta

The Plockmatic SD-435 and Plockmatic SD-450 models combine all four processing steps - binding, creasing, spine crushing and cutting.

Konica Minolta, in partnership with Plockmatic of Sweden, is offering a new inline finishing module for the production of Italian stapled square-back booklets designed for commercial printers and integrated reprographic centers. Called Plockmatic SD-435 and Plockmatic SD-450, this solution, marketed exclusively by Konica, is a "ultra compact, affordable and productive" according to the group.

The Plockmatic SD-435/450 module, which can combine binding, creasing, spine crushing and cutting operations, is compatible with Konica Minolta's AccurioPress monochrome and color presses.
Together these equipments allow the in-line printing and finishing of folded and stapled brochures in short and medium runs.

The Plockmatic SD-435/450 produces edge-stapled booklets in portrait and landscape A6 to A4 and corner-stapled booklets up to A4 portrait. It supports sheets up to 660 mm long.

The Plockmatic SD-435 can staple and fold booklets up to 35 sheets or 140 pages.
And the Plockmatic SD-450 is capable of processing up to 50 sheets, creating booklets of up to 200 pages.

The module can be enriched with other options such as front trimming which removes the shingle effect on the side of the folded document or the BookFold function which allows you to add a square fold to the booklets for a professional look and a printable spine.
