New speed of the Kodak Magnus Q800 CTP

The manufacturer says it is delighted to have made the world's fastest CTP system even faster.

Kodak is offering a new speed increase to its Magnus Q800 CTP, the 8-plate CTP it already touted as the fastest in the world. With the T-speed Plus option, this offset plate inserter can now output up to 84 B1 plates per hour (pph), or one B1 plate every 42.9 seconds.

Since its CTP launch in 2018, the Magnus Q800's top speed has increased by more than 40 percent. At the last upgrade in 2020, with the T-speed option, the Magnus Q800 CTP could engrave up to 80 plates per hour, making it the fastest 8-plate CTP on the market, according to its manufacturer.

The Magnus Q800 CTP is now available in two other speeds: the F-speed at 28 pph and the X-speed at 45 pph.

The T-speed Plus is compatible with all automation options, such as single pallet loader (SPL), multi-pallet loader (MPL) or multiple cassette unit (MCU). The Magnus Q800 CTP can also image Kodak Sonotra Xtra unprocessed plates at its new maximum speed.

"We are thrilled that we were able to make the world's fastest CTP system even faster." commented Jeff Zellmer, Kodak's vice president of global sales and strategy.

Magnus Q800 plate setters (in F-speed, X-speed or T-speed) already installed at customer sites can be upgraded to the new maximum speed on site.
