Bobst launches three new Expertfold gluing machines

The new Bobst folder-gluers feature a new, more ergonomic and compact design, faster setups and a fully connected workflow.

Swiss packaging and printing machinery manufacturer Bobst is expanding its range of folding carton gluers with the Expertfold 50, 80 and 110.

These three forming machines have been designed to produce various types of cardboard boxes at a speed of up to 450â?m/m compared to 250 with the fastest of the six other existing models. This folder gluer can produce up to 28,000 boxes/hr for 4 and 6 corner boxes.

The Expertfold 50, Expertfold 80 and Expertfold 110, whose number corresponds to the maximum length in centimeters of the classic unfolded boxes, produce the smallest packages of the Experfold.

One of the novelties of this series is that it can be enriched with additional peripherals in order to configure a complete folding-gluing line, such as Braille embossing with the Accubraille module, or the Accucheck quality control, two very useful units especially for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic markets.

Its ergonomics has also been improved and its size reduced. From now on, the platform weighs only 6 tons against 17 tons for the lightest of the previous models. The safety doors in particular allow easier access to the 4 and 6âeuros¯coins module, and their narrower design frees up space at the rear of the machine.
The top conveyor handles have also been redesigned to add more precision and stability to the equipment positioning. And the feeder now includes pneumatic ramps, which reduces operator workload and machine set-up time by 20 percent.

This series is connected to the Bobst Connect Essential package, launched last year. This end-to-end digital solution provides access to performance data, production reports and priority remote support.

"With the latest modifications, we have been able to reduce setup time and further improve productivity and box quality, as converters need to be agile and must deliver zero defect products." said Pierre Binggeli, product line manager for folder-gluers at Bobst.
