Hubergroup inks and varnishes: a new global portfolio for printers

Hubergroup harmonizes its portfolio of UV offset inks, varnishes and fount additives for closed substrates.

German ink manufacturer Hubergroup has revised and strengthened its UV offset portfolio for enclosed printing substrates. It now includes printing inks, varnishes and fount additives that are compatible with each other and comply with international regulations.

"Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. That's why it was important to provide printers with a harmonized portfolio available worldwide, offering the best printing performance." explains Roland Schröder, UV offset product manager at Hubergroup.

All ink and varnish series are now formulated without polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) to meet US market regulations and the requirements of major OEMs. What's more, the manufacturer, which employs 3,500 people, intends to stay ahead of future directives in other world markets.

Hubergroup has also modified the NewV poly (MGA) and NewV tin (MGA) series of food and non-food inks, and the NewV lac (MGA) series of varnishes, so that they can be "sensorially neutral . The NewV lac range has also recently been made free of benzophenone, a substance suspected of being carcinogenic.

Hubergroup has also completed its offering for the metal packaging sector with the new NewV tin led series, which includes UV inks and coatings for led curing.

"By reorganizing our portfolio, we have oriented it towards the future" sums up Roland Schröder.
