The PlateRite HD 8900N II, Screen's new thermal CTP range

More energy-efficient, the three models in the new PlateRite HD 8900N II range are compatible with an unloading system allowing up to five different outputs.

Screen unveils its new PlateRite HD 8900N II series of 8-position thermal CTPs. This series, whose release date has not been specified, will replace the PlateRite HD 8900N range launched in 2916.

The PlateRite HD 8900N II range featuring Grating Light Valve (GLV) optical engraving technology will include E, S and Z models.

Like the current series, the top-of-the-range Z model, featuring a 1,024-channel imaging head, is capable of producing 70 plates per hour.
The 512-channel E and S models can process 36 and 48 plates per hour respectively. PlateRite HD 8900N II CTPs produce Screen Spekta 2 and Randot X FM screens.
All models handle various plate sizes, from 304 x 305 mm to 1,165 x 950 mm. And each model can be combined with the MA-L8900 and SA-L89001 automatic plate loaders.

The big news is in the unloading area. The AT-M8001N2 unit can now distribute offset plates to up to five different outlets.

The Japanese manufacturer has also worked on the environmental aspect of these new CTPs. In operation, the Z model consumes up to 43% less electricity per plate. It also features an energy-saving mode that reduces power consumption by 90% when the system is idle, compared with the PlateRite 8800N-ZX CTP.
