RISO and Pitney Bowes launch ExpeINsert, an all-in-one printing, stapling and inserting solution

Following on from the ExpeJet, a one-step printing and inserting solution, RISO and Pitney Bowes have joined forces once again to meet the growing need for automation in mail processing. The two manufacturers have developed the ExpeINsert, a solution that combines production speed, mail integrity and energy efficiency.

In reprographic shops, inserting is one of the most sensitive stages in the workflow. This stage usually requires several successive manipulations âeuros printing, collating, stapling, inserting âeuros that involve changing machines or stations for each operation. Each break in the flow increases the risk of error and slows down production. Added to this is a major constraint: guaranteeing that each envelope contains the documents intended for it.

The ExpeINsert solution was developed to overcome these drawbacks and boost productivity. In a single operation, it enables documents to be printed, stapled or unstapled, before being automatically enveloped.

ExpeINsert, for continuous flow to the envelope

Designed to operate online, ExpeINsert automates the entire process: printing, stapling, inserting and franking (on demand). The solution consists of Pitney Bowes' RELAY 9000 module, connected to the ComColor GL9730 or Valezus T1200 printer and RISO's stapling module, via a bridge that allows stapled or unstapled batches to be transported to the printer's output.

ExpeINsert automatically inserts documents up to 12 mm thick, or 100 A4 stapled sheets, to achieve a production speed of 4,000 folds per hour. It ensures the integrity of each shipment, thanks to barcode control.

Delivering documents to the right people

Thanks to 1D and 2D barcodes, each envelope contains only the documents intended for it. Incomplete sequences are automatically discarded, reinforcing the reliability of the flow. This traceability is crucial for sensitive mail, such as contracts, invoices or administrative documents.

A compact solution requiring few resources, ExpeINsert is easy to install in any constrained environment. A single operator supervises the entire workflow via a touch screen. Job changes are instantaneous, with no need for manual adjustments, and printing in "white paper factory" mode means you can go straight from the blank page to the ready-to-send envelope.

RISO cold inkjet for reduced power consumption

ExpeINsert is based on FORCEJET technology TM from RISO for document printing. This cold printing process deposits an oil-based ink that instantly penetrates the paper fibers and requires no heating system for drying.

Thanks to this 100% cold process, RISO's ComColor and Valezus ranges consume less electricity than conventional copiers and printers in operation and standby. 91% 1 in energy savings.

RISO's cold printing technology does not emit ozone, and concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are greatly reduced, thus preserving air quality in the working environment.

ExpeINsert, a flexible solution

Modular, compact and high-performance, ExpeINsert is an essential solution for processing even the most complex documents. Thanks to its intelligent control from the RISO printer, it handles variable page backgrounds, mixed weights (from 56 to 210 g/m 2 ) and instant job changeover.

Its productivity and integrity make it ideal for multi-client campaigns, mass administrative mailings and confidential mailings. It combines automation, reliability and a reduced environmental footprint.
