Bosch Packaging Technology becomes Syntegon

The sale of Bosch Packaging Technology to the investment fund CVC Capital Partners was completed on 2 January 2020, as planned. And now Bosch's former food and pharmaceutical packaging division is called Syntegon Technology and remains based in Waiblingen, Germany. For this major event, the new group of 6,100 employees unveiled its visual identity and objectives in a press release.

"The name Syntegon stands for synergy, technology and focus on the future." indicates the group in a press release. The colour green underlines "the importance of sustainability and health." . The square of the logo symbolizes the ability of a package to protect the products.

"We are building on 150 years of experience and the 64,000 machines deployed by our customers, and exploring new business opportunities, says Stefan König, CEO of Syntegon Technology. Now more than ever, we are working on smart, sustainable technologies and embracing collaboration with our business partners in a true spirit of partnership."

This newly acquired independence should allow Syntegon's technology to be even more flexible. "While the company was part of a large company with various divisions, it can now create an even better business framework for the industry." the new owner assures the new owner.

Stefan König intends to reduce response times to customer requests and increase the availability of service technicians. Syntegon Technology will also intensify its efforts to develop connected software solutions and components enhanced with artificial intelligence.

Regarding sustainability, the company announces two approaches to produce more sustainable packaging: one is to use single-layer materials rather than conventional multi-layer films, and the other is to use paper packaging instead of plastic.

For the new group, the first major event is the Interpack trade fair in Düsseldorf, where the company will present its new identity to customers.
