HP Unveils Six New Indigo Presses for Labels and Packaging

The manufacturer did not wait for Drupa to announce its new machines, more versatile and more productive.

HP is lifting the veil on the machines it will launch at Drupa 2020 in June in Germany. Today, the company is announcing no less than six new digital presses just for the label and packaging markets. Five of them will go on sale this year.

HP's press portfolio to expand HP Indigo 6K and HP Indigo 8K Two digital presses for narrow-width labels. They would enable wider applications than previous generations and would have advanced color and workflow automation capabilities.

With its opaque white, the Indigo 6K press would be ideal for printing shrink sleeves, and its new inks including silver, fluorescent inks, invisible red and green would enable brand protection applications.
The Indigo 8K would offer increased productivity, reduced waste and easier switching between media types and jobs.

HP will also launch the HP Indigo 25K . It is an entry-level medium-width die-cutting press dedicated to flexible packaging and labels.

The press in B2 format will also be presented at Drupa HP Indigo 35K which allows printing on thinner substrates (150 microns) and the reel-to-reel press HP Indigo 90K equipped with a coating line and a water/UV based laminator, which are intended for the production of flat cardboard and plastic cards.

Manufacturer to Unveil New Indigo Platform with Digital Label Press HP Indigo V12 . It is the first HP Indigo based on the HP Indigo LEPX architecture. This narrow-web press would achieve significantly higher speeds than previous generations, comparable to offset presses at 120m per minute.

All but the HP Indigo V12 will be available at Drupa or by the end of 2020. As for the Indigo V12, it will be demonstrated at the German show and will not be available until 2022.

Upgrade packs will enable owners of older HP presses to take advantage of new features and capabilities.

Since drupa 2016, more than 1,000 HP Indigo label and packaging presses have been installed worldwide.
