Both models in the range are designed for high volume applications on a wide range of media.

Canon unveils its new generation of sheetfed inkjet presses, the varioPRINT iX for high-volume printing.

This series, available in two press models, has an average availability of more than 90% and handles a variety of media, including 90 and 350 gsm offset coated papers 2 and uncoated from 60 to 350 g/m² 2 .

The varioPRINT iX3200 can print 320 A4 duplex image pages per minute (or 9,000 SRA3 duplex image pages per hour). The varioPRINT iX2100 reaches 210 A4 duplex images per minute (or 6000 SRA3 duplex images per hour).

The manufacturer is using the range for a wide range of high-volume applications - between 1 and 10 million A4 prints per month for the varioPRINT iX3200 and between 1 and 7 million for the varioPRINT iX2100, such as marketing materials, direct mail, catalogues, magazines and books.

Three technological innovations compared to the previous range

Equipped with iQuariusiX technology, this range features three new features compared to the previous range (the varioPRINT i). The drying system of the varioPRINT iX protects the paper and ensures that it is immediately ready for finishing.
The varioPRINT iX works with new water-based polymer inks that give brighter, deeper and more durable colours according to the manufacturer.
And iQuarius quality control technologies and 1,200 dpi printheads designed with Kyocera deliver premium print quality "that rivals every other printing technology out there." .

The new range also has a function that improves media handling: sheets with defects are removed before printing.
