Onlineprinters acquires first HP Indigo 100K printer

Jürgen Winkler of Onlineprinters was involved in the development of the HP press.

To meet new customer demands, the online print shop has invested in a brand new HP Indigo Digital Press.

For ten months, the German online printing company Onlineprinters was the test site for the HP Indigo 100K press. HP engineers worked with digital print specialists from one of Europe's leading online printers to ensure the new addition to the Indigo family was ready for market. The HP Indigo 100K B2-format press was scheduled to be unveiled in mid-June at Drupa, which has been postponed to 2021.

"Continuing our long and successful partnership, we tested and optimised the HP Indigo 100K with the Onlineprinters team under real production conditions prior to product launch. And it was a success!" explains Markus Weiss, regional sales manager, HP Indigo and Inkjet.

Following the test phase, which began in August 2019 at the German production site in Neustadt an der Aisch, the Onlineprinters Group decided to purchase the HP Indigo 100K.

"In no time at all, Onlineprinters was impressed with the HP Indigo 100K, continues Markus Weiss. The press prints in-line on a wide range of different substrates without the need to interrupt production. This is an essential requirement when it comes to efficiently handling a variety of orders with maximum flexibility."

"This technological partnership allowed us to test the machine thoroughly. We have greatly appreciated its speed, consistent print quality, excellent operation and ease of maintenance" adds Jürgen Winkler, Director of Operations at Onlineprinters.

With this new press, the Onlineprinters Group, which employs more than 1,800 people, is once again strengthening its digital department in order to respond to the new trends of its customers. "No more stockpiling brochures for the whole year; the content needs to be up to date." says Jürgen Winkler. Half of his orders will be produced digitally in 2021.

And Jürgen Winkler continues: "Uncompromising on quality has always been our credo. To achieve this, we have relied from the outset on the technological leader HP and its HP Indigo family and a homogeneous fleet of offset printing presses .

The Onlineprinters Group produced more than 3.2 billion printed advertising materials last year and has one million customers in 30 European countries.
