Textile printing : Epson launches the Mona Lisa 8000

The new entry-level model in the Monna Lisa series combines the performance of the latest Epson inkjet printing and manufacturing technologies.

Epson announced at the end of September the launch of the ML-8000, the new entry-level model in the Mona Lisa series of digital textile printers. Equipped with 8 state-of-the-art PrecisionCore printheads, the ML-8000 achieves a print speed of 155 square meters per hour.

With its high print quality, increased productivity and affordable price, the manufacturer presents the ML-8000 as ideal for textile professionals who want to go digital. The ML-8000's image quality is assured by Epson's high-quality print heads.

Epson's Microweave and Color Conversion Table (LUT) technologies reduce banding and grain formation, and the new Advanced Multilayer Halftone Technology (MLHT), which randomly distributes the pattern of halftone dots on each layer, reduces image quality degradation caused by dot misalignment, the manufacturer explains.

Epson also evokes unprecedented ease of use with an advanced cleaning system and automated adjustment functions. A lint blower system removes fibres from the fabric surface before they enter the printing area, and an ink mist extraction system prevents ink mist from adhering to the nozzle surface.

Ease of use is also enhanced by a 9-inch LCD touch screen that displays the printer's current status, operating instructions and regular maintenance procedures, as well as a large 10 or 3-litre inking system that can be replaced on the fly for uninterrupted production.
