Founded in 2009 and a member of the DIAM Group since 2017, MR Cartonnage Numérique focuses on the digital printing of packaging for luxury brands, with particular expertise in short runs and prototypes. At Drupa 2024, the company confirmed its investment in Fujifilm's Jet Press 750S, a strategic decision to strengthen its position in the fast-growing folding carton packaging market.
A fast-growing market
The folding carton packaging market is experiencing strong growth, particularly in the short-run segments. Jonathan Mihy, founder and managing director of MR Cartonnage Numérique, points out that quality and profitability are major challenges in this sector. To meet these challenges, the company decided to invest in an advanced technology: Fujifilm's Jet Press 750S.
The Jet Press 750S: a strategic choice
MR Cartonnage Numérique chose the Jet Press 750S after several years of growing interest in inkjet technology. The B2 format of the press was a decisive criterion. The MR team was impressed not only by the machine, but also by the support offered by Fujifilm throughout the decision-making process. This close collaboration enabled the company to thoroughly test the press before finalizing its purchase.
"We'd been interested in inkjet for a number of years, and were increasingly convinced that our next investment had to be in an inkjet press. We also wanted a B2 format, so these criteria immediately put the Jet Press in our sights." explains Jonathan Mihy, company founder and CEO.

Quality, reliability and environmental commitment
The color consistency and reliability of the Jet Press 750S were key factors in MR Cartonnage Numérique's decision. The press, built on an offset-type frame, ensures minimal downtime, a crucial feature for maintaining productivity. In addition, the use of water-based inks and the recyclability of printed products are in line with the company's commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
Future prospects
This first investment with Fujifilm marks an important step for MR Cartonnage Numérique. The company plans to continue working with Fujifilm to innovate and meet the growing demands of the luxury packaging market.
"For over ten years, the Jet Press has set the benchmark for quality and productivity in commercial printing. We're delighted that more and more customers are recognizing its potential for high-end, short- and medium-run packaging, due to its wider color gamut, consistent color quality, solid reproduction and superior machine uptime. We are honored that MR Cartonnage Numérique has chosen to partner with us to develop its business, and we look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration." concludes Taro Aoki, Head of Digital Press Solutions, Fujifilm Europe.
