The HP Indigo 7900 enters the Estienne school

The Ecole Estienne pedagogical team with Mariette Dupont, Headmistress

The École Estienne received an HP Indigo 7900 from HP, a first for a school-level digital press.

Since September, an HP Indigo 7900 has been installed at the École Estienne. The Parisian school of communication design and book arts thus becomes the first training center in France to have a digital press of this level.

Founded in 1889, the school run by Mariette Dupont receives 1,600 applications each year for just 72 places in the BTS Ãtudes et réalisation d'un produit de communication (ERPC). Half of those admitted specialize in printing (the other half in multimedia products).

Graduates "immediately operational" at their future employers

The arrival of this HP press completes the teaching workshop, which already includes offset presses, a folder, a coater, cutters and plotters. The HP Indigo 7900 is based on LEP (Liquid Electrophotography) technology, and can be used to produce personalized SRA3 format prints in short and medium runs, with professional quality.

For teachers, the presence of an Indigo 7900 brings students closer to real production conditions. " This technology is now widely used by professionals in the impression. It's a real opportunity for our students to be trained in its use and possibilities, so that they can be immediately operational with their future employers. This gives them a real head start on the job market" stresses Stéphane Lefort, teacher in the BTS ERPC.

HP, partner of the École Estienne

The installation of the press at the École Estienne was made possible thanks to the American manufacturer who donated the machine. Only the logistical and installation costs had to be borne by the school, with financial support from the Mairie de Paris.

This installation is part of a wider partnership between HP France and the École Estienne. For the past two years, each first-year class has benefited from a one-day immersion in HP's Customer Welcome Center at Meudon in the Hauts-de-Seine department, a showroom designed to present the manufacturer's digital printing solutions.

Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, BTS ERPC students will also take part in a communication campaign aimed at printers, designed in partnership with HP.
