Two new printing options on the Canon LabelStream 4000

It is now possible to apply a support white comparable to screen printing and increase the press gamut with a new ink channel.

Canon is adding new options to its Océ Labelstream 4000 digital label press line-up, which will be launched in 2018. The 330 or 410 mm width configuration of these machines can be complemented with a high-coverage white and an orange channel for very specific jobs.

Canon Alpine White for 80% opacity in a single pass

The Labelstream 4000 series (Labelstream 4000 Hybrid and Labelstream 4000 Core ) can now be enriched with the Alpine White option. While the Labelstream 4000's standard white group offers 70% opacity, this new white ink from Canon achieves 80% opacity at 36m/min in a single pass (70% at 50m/min and 65% at 75m/min).

"Alpine White is a supporting white whose coverage rivals silkscreen printing without any problem, explains Stéphane Giraudon, Sales Director, Canon Labelstream Southern Europe . This software option is ideal for printers who use white in screen printing."

Orange to reach 96% of Pantone colours

Canon also offers orange in 5th colour.
With the basic 4-colour print engine, the Labelstream 4000 series covers 94% of Pantone colours. "This is above many of our competitors. However, some brands need even more specific red and orange. With this fifth color, we achieve a 96% gamut of Pantone colors!"

And these two new options can be integrated into the machine at a later date.
