PRISMAprepare Go, Canon's workflow for small businesses

Alison Davies, Canon Europe product manager, presents this solution designed for small printers, which combines prepress tools and an online customer portal.

At its major event, Make IT 22, held at the Customer Client Center in Munich, Germany in April, Canon introduced PRISMAprepare Go, a cloud-based workflow optimization solution developed specifically for small print businesses.

"PRISMAprepare Go is the only tool on the market that combines job submission, file preparation and preflight in one solution." presents Alison Davies, Canon Europe product manager.

She explains: "Many printers who have no interest in investing in a complex workflow, yet they too need to optimize their production. PRISMAprepare Go is perfect for companies with less than ten employees, equipped with one or more mono or color printing machines."

The main advantage of PRISMAprepare Go: online job submission

"When you receive a print request by email, you must keep all the information of this request, the zip file, etc, she details. It is difficult to structure this data. PRISMAprepare Go provides this organizational service.
But its main asset, the one that adds the most value to end customers and printers, is, in my opinion, the online job submission. With the online portal, customers self-submit their files saving time and flexibility, as does the printer."

The online portal of PRISMAprepare Go, the interface with the customer can be customized with the colors of the printing company.

Then, automated preflighting reports any missing elements or errors, such as page size, fonts or image resolution. PRISMAprepare Go also allows for the imposition of jobs.

The application supports Canon production printers, whether driven by PRISMAsync, Fiery or Canon PDL, as well as generic third-party JDF printers.

"It's a very interesting little solution that's easy to use and brings value to customers."
