Agfa's Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS gets a varnish option

Printers have a choice of two varnish finishes and can apply it to the entire surface of the substrate or just selectively.

After the Jeti Tauro H3300 HS the UHS (ultra-high speed) model also has a coating option. Agfa's Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS led UV hybrid inkjet printer can apply a high-gloss or satin varnish at a speed of up to 150 m 2 /h.

This Jeti Tauro is the fastest of the Belgian manufacturer's high-end multi-pass inkjet range with its 905 m 2 /h. The extra-large format printer has the ability to run 24/7. Configurable up to six colors plus white and primer, the H3300 UHS handles both rigid media - including brown cardboard - and flexible media up to 3.3 m wide.

With this new option, corrugated display manufacturers have the ability to embellish prints by adding a layer of varnish applied over the entire surface or selectively. "The varnish beautifies the prints by giving them a high-end look, while protecting them to some extent." emphasizes Agfa.

The CPV Group, which specializes in point-of-sale communication and is located in Essonne, France, installed the Jeti Tauro H3300 HS machine equipped with this option. Its CEO, Olivier Yvard, wanted to offer high-end decorations and finishes in-house on different substrates in a single pass. Today, the manager uses the varnish for about 15% of his production and expects to reach 50%, both in spot and full page varnish, and in ultra gloss and satin.
