At the Fespa 2023 trade show held in Munich, Germany, until May 26, Efi unveiled the Nozomi 14000 SD, a very high-speed printer for signage and posters. This large-format machine features Nozomi's single-pass UV led printing technology, as does the 1.8-meter-wide Nozomi 18000+ launched last year.
Available later this year, the 1.4-meter-wide EFI Nozomi 14000 SD prints on paper, cardboard, canvas and synthetic substrates at speeds of up to 30 linear meters per minute (lm/m).
"At this speed, customers will be able to produce up to 740 1.4 x 2.4 m sheets per hour, a speed impossible to achieve with other digital devices."
Upgradeable, the printer can increase speed and automate loading with a vision and inspection system to boost productivity to 70 lm/m or 1,845 sheets per hour.
Efi's Nozomi 14000 SD offers 720 dpi resolution and reproduces 97% of the Pantone color gamut, says the manufacturer.
It can be configured for up to six colors (CMYK plus white, orange or violet), and its LED inks are Greenguard-certified, odorless and VOC-free.
This 1.4-metre-wide version gives a larger share of the market "completely transform their business with ultra-high-speed, superior-quality imaging in a lower-entry-point, single-pass solution." explains Ken Hanulec, Efi's Vice-President of Sales and Marketing.
