Canon launches its new imagePrograf TM range of color plotters. These large-format A0+ and A1+ printers, which replace the imagePrograf TM-300/200 range launched at the end of 2018, are designed for CAD and indoor and outdoor poster printing applications for architecture, engineering, construction, retail, hospitality and education.
Five machines, two sizes
Featuring five CMYK colors plus matte black, the new imagePrograf TM roll and sheet series comprises five models differing in size, speed and memory: the TM-355 (with hard disk), TM-350 and TM-340 for printing up to A0+, and the TM-255 (with hard disk) and TM-240 for A1+ printing.
Compact in design (1285 × 756 × 1060 mm or 978 x 756 x 1060 mm) and equipped with a 4.3" fold-down, touch-sensitive control panel, these color plotters operate silently - down to 39 decibels (dB) on some models compared with the previous range, a reduction of around a third - enabling them to be positioned close to users.
The TM-355/350 achieve print speeds of up to 3.2 pages per minute (28% faster than previous models).
New water-resistant pigmented inks
And thanks to a new magenta ink and image processing, these printers offer more vibrant colors, even on uncoated paper, with notably brighter reds and sharper contrasts, says Canon.

Thanks to these water-resistant pigmented inks, the new imagePrograf TM prints are resistant to outdoor conditions and will not fade over time.
These plotters are also capable of producing edge-to-edge printing on any reel format, avoiding the need for finishing work. The edge of the substrate is detected by a sensor.
A large-format scanner can be added as an option.
Canon has also equipped this range with a new L-COA PRO II image processing engine, which speeds up start-up from standby mode.
And the printers' packaging has been rethought: the polystyrene cushioning has been replaced by cardboard.
