Strategic diversification for RISO after the acquisition of Toshiba Tec
RISO Kagaku is embarking on a new adventure with the unveiling of its latest innovation, the Integlide, a printing, marking and labeling unit in a single operation. Developed from the basic inkjet technology that has made RISO production printers so successful, this solution represents a major step forward for packaging and logistics professionals.
This diversification is the result of a strategic decision to acquire Toshiba Tec. By taking over Toshiba's inkjet printing division, RISO gains access to advanced technologies that enable it to position itself in the fast-growing packaging market. The company can now print on a variety of packaging materials such as cardboard and kraft paper, meeting the growing needs of logistics professionals.
RISO at ALL4Pack
For the first time, RISO will be presenting the Integlide at ALL4Pack, a major event for packaging and logistics professionals. This marks an important milestone for the company, which intends to demonstrate the capabilities of its technology and strengthen its presence in the European packaging printing market.
The Integlide, an integrated, modular printing unit
The Integlide stands out for its flexibility and ability to integrate into existing systems. Designed specifically for the corrugated packaging market, it enables manufacturers to easily add printing capabilities to their production lines, or even develop complete presses according to their needs. Drawing on its expertise in ComColor and Valezus printers, RISO adapts its inkjet technology to offer a robust, high-performance solution tailored to the demands of the packaging sector.
Proven inkjet technology
RISO draws on its expertise in inkjet printing to develop the Integlide. This new unit uses robust piezoelectric print heads designed by Toshiba Tec. Intended for the packaging sector, these heads can print both horizontally and vertically, depending on the conveyor configuration and the position of the box to be decorated, while guaranteeing reliability and print quality suited to demanding environments.
The Integlide solution offers performance tailored to modern packaging lines. It is equipped with 2-inch printheads, arranged in a staggered pattern, enabling a standard resolution of 300 x 300 dpi, and a maximum resolution of 300 x 600 dpi. With a speed of 30 meters per minute, this unit is designed to print quickly and efficiently on uncoated substrates, without the need for pre-treatment. It supports both monochrome and CMYK printing, offering flexibility in terms of packaging personalization.

An eco-responsible and economical solution
One of the special features of the Integlide is the use of oil-based inks, specifically developed by RISO. These inks dry instantly on contact with porous substrates, eliminating the need for a dedicated drying system, which reduces not only costs, but also energy consumption.
The ink used in Integlide is similar to that already used by RISO in its printing solutions, notably in schools and offices, ensuring optimum security and limited environmental impact.
Greater flexibility and productivity for packaging professionals
The Integlide is positioned as an alternative to traditional flexographic printing, marking and labeling processes. By integrating these functions into a single system, the Integlide simplifies packaging line workflows, reducing storage costs and improving overall production efficiency. Users can customize designs directly on the line, offering greater flexibility to meet specific customer requests or low-volume orders.
