French digital printing market stable in 2019

The digital production press segment is up: +3.1% compared to 2018.

The National Union of Information and Printing Solutions and Systems Companies (SNESSII) has just published the 2019 figures for the printing and IT sector. According to the research firm infoSource, for all individual and business markets, the french printing industry the number of vehicles sold in 2019 will be 3.6 million, a slight slowdown compared with the previous year (-1.9%).

The segment of multifunction printing (MFP for Multiple Function Printer) A4 and A3 format accounts for 90% of sales.
With 3?286?911 units sold in 2019, the market remains fairly stable (-1.4%). In retail, A3 MFPs are up 10.3% while sales volumes of A4 formats, mainly for the general public and B-to-C, are down 2.4%.

"Sales of multifunction devices are being maintained thanks to the complementary nature of these systems to the development of digital technology and as a support for dematerialization, analyzes the NESSII. The players in the sector are developing a permanent offer of solutions and services, ever more innovative and personalised, enabling them to optimise the flow of documents in companies and support their productivity gains"

About the categories single function printers (out of production) and large format printers Both markets are down, with respectively -7.5% units sold (305?516 in 2019) and - 1.9% (10?444 units in 2019).

Conversely, the production digital presses shows an increase: +3.1% compared to 2018, with 3?151 machines sold.

The SNESSII brings together 12 players in the printing and IT services market: Canon France, Conibi, Epson France, Konica Minolta Business Solutions France, Kyocera Document Solutions France, Oki Europe, Rex Rotary, Ricoh France, Riso, Sharp Business System France, Toshiba Tec France Imaging System and Xerox France.
