Canon launches the world's first large format printers with fluorescent water-based ink

The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-4000

These 6 or 10 color printers from Canon allow you to create high value graphic prints.

Canon is expanding its imagePROGRAF series with four new large format machines, the imagePROGRAF GP-4000 (44 inches wide or 1118 mm), GP-2000 (24 inches - 610 mm), GP-300 (36 inches - 917 mm) and GP-200 (24 inches - 610 mm). These are the first large format printers in the world to print an aqueous pigmented fluorescent ink.

The imagePROGRAF GP-4000 and imagePROGRAF GP-2000 are 10 colors - CMYK plus red, orange, green and purple and neon pink. The imagePROGRAF GP-300 and the imagePROGRAF GP-200 are in 6 colors - CMYK plus matte black and neon pink.

These digital printers use Radiant Infusion technology that overlays newly developed fluorescent pink ink on the paper surface with other inks during printing, allowing "a reproduction of bright and soft colors" says Canon.

These imagePROGRAF GPs are also the first to be licensed by Pantone Calibrated for the Pantone Pastels & Neons color chart. This certification ensures that 154 pastel and 56 neon Pantone shades are reproducible on these four digital presses.

"With a choice of four GP printer models offering 10 or 5 pigmented aqueous inks plus a fluorescent pink ink and three different widths, businesses of all sizes can reproduce a wider range of colors and add vibrancy with fluorescent pink to create eye-catching posters." said Junichi Wachi, director of Canon Europe's large format business (LFP).

"As retail, hospitality and leisure businesses in EMEA focus on reopening and recovery, bright and vibrant promotional signage has a critical role to play in capturing consumer attention, increasing foot traffic and driving sales."
