Fujifilm's first Acuity Ultra Hybrid led installed in Germany

Fokina, a German printing and design company, is investing for the second time in a Fujifilm large-format digital press, an obvious choice according to its Managing Director.

Last February, Fujifilm's new high-end large-format hybrid printer made its UK debut. Now it's Germany's turn to welcome the Acuity Ultra Hybrid led of the Japanese group. The 3.3 m wide digital machine is installed in the workshops of Fokina, a printing works based in Eppingen, north of Stuttgart, with its own design department.

It was during the Fespa 2023 that the purchase order for this new large-format press was signed. This investment is in addition to that already made in 2020 in the acquisition of the 5-meter-wide Acuity Ultra, the model used by the German company to print the 574 m 2 visuals of the Fujifilm stand at Fespa 2022.

Fokina says it intends to put the hybrid press "on the map to enhance the productivity of its business". The Acuity Ultra Hybrid led will enable the company to expand its range of substrates, with the printer accepting rigid and flexible media such as Forex, PVC, Dibond, fabrics, adhesives and banners.

With print speeds of up to 218 m 2 /h and a resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 DPI, Fokina estimates " offer greater added value and shorter delivery times to its customers, without compromising on quality".

General Manager Sven Breiter explains that " the Acuity Ultra Hybrid led is a complete solution. The media transport process is smooth and ink drop placement is extremely precise [...] It was a no-brainer for us to invest in another Fujifilm printer after the success we've had with the Acuity Ultra." .
