The HP Indigo 18K press, the new generation of B2 format printing

The Indigo 18K press, one of HP's major launches at Drupa 2024, is said to offer the widest range of printing applications on a single B2 digital press.

Lots of news from HP. At Drupa, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 28 to June 7, 2024, the American manufacturer will be launching at least three new digital presses and announcing other innovations. In particular, HP will present the HP Indigo 18K Digital Press, the new generation of B2 format presses.

Taking into account support for the 2000 HP Indigo substrate range and the capabilities of 12 ElectroInks, the new HP Indigo 18K digital press offers the widest range of printing applications with a single B2 digital press, says its manufacturer.

The Indigo 18K press can be equipped with up to seven ink stations, and comes with AI-based features such as automatic file retrieval and proactive alerts. These functions should enhance productivity and simplify the entire production process. With a single shift, the Indigo press would be available up to 80% of the time, according to HP.

What's more, with the enhanced productivity mode known as EPM (which enables printing in three colors - cyan, magenta and yellow), the HP Indigo 18K delivers 24% energy savings per sheet.

This new press reaches 3450 sheets per hour in full color and 4600 sheets in EPM mode.
