The new digital press controller incorporates new features for even simpler and more efficient operation.

Following the launch of its new Versafire digital presses in 2018, Heidelberg is now releasing the new version of the Prinect Digital Front End Controller (Prinect DFE). The Prinect DFE Version 2020, which manages the automated control of the digital press, brings new tools to digital printing machines.

With this new DFE, the complete presetting of the infeed and finishing modules is integrated for a fully automatic production flow.
The Prinect DFE 2020 controller also enables more flexible print and register imposition.
Media-specific ICC profiles can be generated in less than ten minutes without special operator knowledge. These colour profiles improve output quality, especially on tinted media.

Existing Versafire EV and EP systems can be upgraded with a software upgrade to connect new finishing devices.

"We are reaping the benefits of our long-standing partnership with Ricoh, which offers our customers more and more options through a powerful digital printing system, says Manuela Gomez, Head of Commercial Digital Printing at Heidelberg. Prinect 2020 also gives us the opportunity to integrate the best of both worlds - offset and digital - and become an integral part of our customers' production systems."
