Former HP Indigo employee joins Highcon

Highcon, launched on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange last December, made several appointments to strengthen its Board of Directors and management team.
Alon Bar-Shany, former managing director of HP Indigo, is the new chairman of the board of the group specialising in digital cutting and creasing machines. Amichai Steimberg, who has held this position since mid-2020 during the IPO process, will step down as planned.
Alon Bar-Shany will join Highcon's board of directors, which includes Benny Landa, founder of Indigo and chairman of the Landa Group, Adina Shorr, former CEO of digital finishing press manufacturer Scodix, and Giora Bitan, former CFO of Scitex (acquired by HP in 2005).
Highcon, whose Managing Director is Shlomo Nimrodi, also welcomes Simon Lewis as the company's new Vice President of Marketing. Simon Lewis began his career 27 years ago at Scitex, most recently as regional sales manager for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa for HP Indigo.

The Bègles paper mill founded in 1929 draws the curtain down

The Bègles paper mill, which produces plasterboard paper, will close by March 31. The plant, created in 1929 and located in the Gironde, employs 91 people.
The Belgian group Etex, which owns the speciality paper mill, had announced its intention to sell the site in September, but has not found a buyer.

Messe Düsseldorf's sales revenue falls sharply

Messe Düsseldorf Group, the German organiser of trade fairs (Drupa, Interpack...), closes this particular year with a 2020 turnover of 131.5 million euros, a drop of 65.3% compared to the previous year (378.5 million euros). His company Messe Düsseldorf GmbH also posted a 65.4 % drop in turnover to ? 118.9 million. However, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH has a very high equity capital of EUR 364.3 million (previous year: EUR 448 million).

At the Supervisory Board meeting, the Mayor of Dusseldorf, Stephan Keller, was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He stated: "As expected, annual results were lower than the previous year due to covid-19. It is therefore all the more relevant now that shareholders continue to view Messe Düsseldorf's market position as a partner of the industry and its financial stability positively. In recent years, Messe Düsseldorf has distinguished itself through its profitable and sustainable management, which will help it to cope with this difficult year."

For 2021, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH expects sales of 107.3 million euros and a loss of 77 million euros.
