Konica Minolta's new KM-1E HD inkjet press

Konica Minolta's AccurioJet KM-1e HD

This AccurioJet KM-1e HD inkjet press offers the best image quality on the market according to Konica Minolta, enabling new digital applications.

Konica Minolta is launching a new B2-size CMYK UV led inkjet press, the AccurioJet KM-1e HD, a high definition (HD) version of the AccurioJet KM-1e .

Released in 2020, the AccurioJet KM-1e, which prints on a variety of substrates, offers 1200 x 1200 DPI printing close to offset quality, according to Konica Minolta. With HD technology, flesh tone quality, solid background rendering and texture reproduction are further enhanced, allowing it to tackle niche markets such as photo books, art books and digital packaging printing.

"Inheriting the customer-focused history of the KM-1, the new high-quality HD model will help expand customers' applications and businesses." said Hidetoshi Omo, head of the KM-1 Competence Center at Konica Minolta Europe. "Image quality has now reached the highest level in the industry. There is no difference in RIP processing times and changes in ink consumption will be negligible."

AccurioJet KM-1e HD installed at Swiss printer

The first European customer for Konica Minolta's AccurioJet KM-1e HD is the Swiss printing company Werner Druck, which is expanding into the custom packaging and finishing markets with this equipment. The printer has also ordered an MGI JetVarnish 3D digital finishing press and the Motioncutter laser cutting system from Konica.

"We opted for this complete solution because we see great potential in the packaging and finishing market in the coming years, says Roger Kessler, CEO of the Swiss company. With this combination of equipment, we are now perfectly positioned to meet the market demands in this area."

"The AccurioJet KM-1e and KM-1e HD models are key pillars in our strategy to help our customers rethink creativity. By working closely with them, we want to help them shape and seize the many opportunities that digital printing brings, moving from offset to inkjet printing in a growing market." adds Hidetoshi Omo.
