At Drupa 2024, Konica Minolta will be presenting a wide range of machines and production solutions for the graphic arts, including the AccurioJet 60000 and AccurioPress C84hc digital presses. Here are some of the new Konica products in partnership with MGI and other brands.

On a 2,400 m 2 konica will be presenting 30 machines in operation at Drupa 2024, the largest number of machines it has ever shown. Of these, 20 will be exhibited for the first time in Europe. The Japanese manufacturer unveils some of these new products two months ahead of this major graphic arts event.

The AccurioJet 60000 high-speed UV inkjet press

Visitors to the Düsseldorf show in Germany from May 28 to June 7 will be able to discover the new-generation UV inkjet press, the AccurioJet 60000, the top-of-the-range, high-productivity model in the AccurioJet KM-1 series.

Designed to minimize downtime, the AccurioJet 60000, which reaches 6,000 sheets per hour and enables duplex printing, uses inline sensors and a spectrophotometer to automatically monitor printing conditions to ensure perfect image quality and print stability on a variety of substrates.

This new-generation model, with its emphasis on productivity, will be on the market in the near future, and the range will be completed by the top-of-the-range AccurioJet KM-1e press, designed for short turnaround times.

AccurioPress C84hc with new toner

Konica Minolta will also be exhibiting for the first time the AccurioPress C84hc press, which uses high-saturation toner to print consistently bright, vivid colors.
It's the only press in the world using this new toner, exempt from the color space restrictions imposed by ordinary toners," he points out.

MGI's AlphaJet at the center of Konica's stand

Together with its partner, French manufacturer MGI, Konica Minolta will also be demonstrating how processes such as embossing, varnishing, printing, folding and drying can be carried out in a single integrated production line, thanks to MGI's AlphaJet.

This production line will be at the center of the stand, highlighting the advantages of complete production in a single pass, including savings in terms of space, energy consumption and personnel costs.

MGI will also be presenting new options for the JetVarnish 3D Web 400 reel-to-reel digital finishing solution, such as the JetSeal flexo unit and a new integrated die-cutting module.

New partners too

In addition to working closely with its partner MGI, Konica Minolta will also be teaming up with a number of other manufacturers and brands, including workflow solutions provider Fiery, inkjet personalization specialist Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ), which uses Konica printheads in its products, and finishing solutions provider Plockmatic.

Konica Minolta Sensing, a subsidiary of the group dedicated to measuring instruments, will unveil Myiro color management tools for the graphic arts industry, including spectrophotometers for color management and high-speed automatic scanning.

Visitors will also be able to discover the Cobot robotic arm.

Software and maintenance demonstrations also on the program

In addition to the machines, Konica Minolta will be showcasing some thirty software products, including the new version of the AccurioPro Colour Manager software suite.

Demonstrations of programmatic printing will also be a highlight of Konica Minolta's presentations. Most of the development in this approach lies in the software that powers the presses.
Artificially-generated content, for example, will be added to applications with targeted content for people who have provided information such as their name, age range and location.

Under the "mixed reality" service, Konica Minolta's remote maintenance operations will be highlighted. Operators using headsets or smartphones equipped with cameras can connect via the cloud to the Konica Minolta service to benefit from real-time remote visual support in the event of a problem.

Print-on-demand documentation at Drupa

Konica Minolta will not be offering any pre-printed documentation at Drupa. Instead, all product data sheets and other marketing materials can be ordered from a kiosk and printed on recycled paper within seconds on the live automated lines as soon as the request is received.

"We believe that the mission of Konica Minolta's Professional Printing Department is to promote the transition from analog to digital printing, creating a world where high-value printed matter is produced efficiently and environmental impact is minimized, says Olaf Lorenz, Managing Director International Marketing at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. To carry out this mission, we have a wide range of fields of action, from commercial printing to label, packaging and industrial printing. Our products and solutions are a range of industry solutions, including not only various digital printing solutions which are our spearhead, but also pre-printing and post-printing."
