Fujifilm and Inca introduce new automation for the Onset X HS range

For increased productivity and reduced need for manual intervention on the Onset X HS flatbed printer range.

Fujifilm and Inca Digital announced in early May the launch of advanced automation options for the Onset X HS flatbed printing line. With the success of the large-format line launching in 2019, the two companies have introduced robotic technology for automatic media loading and unloading.

Using Dual Flex and High Five robotics, the range includes a semi-automatic configuration (manual loading and automatic unloading) and a fully automatic mode (loading, unloading and stacking), specially designed to handle soft and difficult materials such as unpacked corrugated board.

Optimize production levels

Matt Brooks, Product & Solutions Manager at Inca Digital, explains that these new automation options on the Onset X HS range have been developed in close collaboration with existing Onset X customers to optimize production levels.

"Longer runs and full automation are becoming increasingly common. The introduction of ABB's incredibly sophisticated robotic arms and Inca's uniquely designed sheeting technology allows our Onset X customers to produce extremely high volumes of high-quality print jobs even faster.»

The Onset X HS range includes four automation options: the semi-automatic 3/4 system, a fully automatic media loading system, a fully automatic handling system for unpacked corrugated board and a fully automatic handling system with integrated flexible loading.

"Fujifilm has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with Inca Digital since the two companies launched the world's first large format UV inkjet printers in 1999." says Kevin Jenner, European Marketing Manager, Fujifilm Wide Format Inkjet Systems . "The Onset X line has been setting the standard for quality and productivity in the industry for a few years now, and we are excited to be able to offer our customers another step forward in speed and efficiency.»
