Fujifilm unveils its new Acuity Ultra R2 ultra large format printer

The Acuity Ultra R2 is available in different color configurations and in 5m or 3.2m versions.

After the Acuity Ultra, launched in 2018, Fufilm just announced in early June as part of its strategy to create the new large format reference the launch of the Acuity Ultra R2.

Available in 5m or 3.2m versions, the new printer has the same levels of quality and reliability as its predecessor, but brings a large number of design improvements, both for ease of use and overall productivity, the manufacturer says.

Fujifilm's new machine features include a new enclosed design that eliminates stray UV light, an improved workspace for operator comfort (maintenance and ink supply on the same side), and an indicator light to warn of low ink levels.

Larger ink tanks

The Acuity Ultra R2 features larger ink tanks with the idea of eliminating the clutter of half-used open ink cans. Access to the tanks for refilling has been made easier, and maintenance-free ink pumps have been incorporated into the new machines.

Another significant design advantage is that the separate cooling unit that came with the original Acuity Ultra is now fully integrated into the design of the new machine, freeing up workspace and reducing the footprint, the manufacturer notes.

In different configurations

Like the original Acuity Ultra, the R2 is available in various color configurations up to eight channels. The Acuity Ultra R2 is available with conventional UV curing as standard, or with an LED UV curing system for six color + white configurations. The optimized roller design prevents media wrinkling.

Kevin Rhodes, Fujifilm WFIJ marketing manager, concludes:

"The original Acuity Ultra set a new standard for quality, performance and price when it was launched in 2018. Three years later, the Acuity Ultra R2 goes even further as part of our brand new Acuity line and our 'new standard' concept of large format
